Time seems to be flying by faster than usual these days. On the other hand it also seems to be standing still. I know I have the patients of a gnat, but I’m not as bad as when I was younger. You know, us Gen X’ers and everything.
As you have notice I haven’t been posting daily. I plan to get back in gear in the next week or so. This week was very busy for me. My regular job is quite time consuming. It was also my birthday on Wednesday so no working on that day. I also got all my business paperwork finished and now I’m a legit business man with a State Tax License. No more under the table dealings!
Next week I’m hoping that the used kiln I bought is finished being gone thru and all the new parts added. It will be delivered to my door step. Hopefully the house elves will leave it alone and not try to move in. I will have to have a sit down with them once in place.
I’m kind of bummed even when thing are going great. I have to wait until mid August to get an electrician out to install the wiring in my garage. A friend recommended another friend to do the wiring. It was some journeyman electrician. He promised he could do the work at the beginning of this week, gave me a quote even without looking at my house. I was pumped, until the guy showed up.
He wasn’t even there five minutes and he started shaking his head in disgust. After several trips up and down my basement stairs I asked “what’s up”. The side job man told me he couldn’t do the job. I’m like “Whaaat?”, and had him fill in the details. He said he needed to run piping in my garage for the wires. I already knew this because of the previous electricians that I bid with to do the wiring in August. My friend’s electrician sad he would need to get his company truck. Apparently he works for a electrician company in town, and this was an under the table deal.
The guy told me he would need to have his company truck because he needed the piping to make it legal. I’m like thanks buddy. He apologized and left. I’m just luck I didn’t cancel the appointment with the first company. I guess I will have to do some praying to the gods to see if I can get an electrician out sooner than August.
I can’t wait to get my kiln on!
